The recurring question in that format is what a founder would do differently, and the answer that generalises is about sequencing. Building the product before establishing that someone will pay for it is the standard failure, and it is standard because building is the pleasant part. Every venture described on this site now starts from a customer who is already paying someone to solve the problem badly — which is a slower, less interesting way to begin, and the one that works.
